Google search console & currents statistics

Today, I used the google search console to monitor and set up my website’s statistics. This is useful because I can determine which articles are performing best and can then figure out what the most effective way of optimizing the search engine is. I started by figuring out what a TXT record is. It’s basically something services use to verify you own a domain. In this case, it’s used for Google Search Console. It’s not…

Published ultimate guide, account approval

Today, I got an email from instagram support that my account @piproficient has been approved and they apologized for any inconvenience. I also verified that my tutorial worked by running it on my own raspberry pi, and I think something I will do in the future is create a tutorial on how to install add-ons to the server. I can keep on using internal links, which are very useful tools to keep people on your…

Learning journey, account ban

Today, I wrote a learning journey. I spent a fair amount of effort on it, check it out! (Why do we trust tutorials?). I also opened up instagram on my computer for unrelated business but found that I was logged in to a new account I created a few weeks ago (piproficient). It had been banned, so I needed to submit an appeal form. This included writing on a piece of paper to prove that…

ULTIMATE GUIDE: HOW TO WRITE A LEARNING PORTFOLIO

Today, I’m expanding on my previous tutorial, which was a shorter one on how to create a minecraft server. I intend on creating a comprehensive guide. Basically, I am doing the project from start to finish on my own raspberry pi, and logging what works for me in my article. To view my progress, pretty much just look at the article. I don’t really want to re write everything here, just to be more efficient.…

Creating a longer tutorial, and doing research for it

Today, I made a plan on what I want to do for my site in the following days. I decided on creating a mega guide, and making separate articles for each specific part. For example: HOW TO COOK AN OMELETTE The would allow me to make 3 tutorials in one, meaning 3x the pages, which is good for Search Engine Optimization. The bigger your site is, the more it prefers you. I’m starting out by…

Another article + learning journey

Today, I created another article for my site, made a learning journey, and added some helpful tools to make my writing better. I decided to make another basic tutorial on enabling SSH for a raspberry pi. I checked out my statistics from my other article and it shows 16 pageviews! That’s great. I want to add a code syntax editor for this article. I am looking at two different ones, enlightment, and code syntax. Sorry…

How do business practices of web hosting companies reflect the real world?

In the past week, I have started my blog. I chose a company (BlueHost) to host my website, and also created and am hosting my domain on it. It is a company owned by EIG, a MASSIVE international web hosting company. Companies having a large amount of control over the market allows them to provide an all-in-one package that I have used. The problem with this is that they can have hidden fine print to…

Fixing the site issue… why did I try to move it?

Where is my site? That’s the question we finished with yesterday. My site was showing up on piproficient.com, but not on my bluehost dashboard. So, I tried to fix this. I started by going through the files in cPanel, the file manager for the virtual server I’m using, BlueHost. I think that the reason the website isn’t showing up on the dashboard is because the site manager is looking for files in the /web folder…

Migrated site and ANOTHER post!

Today, I signed up for MonsterInsights, an insight plugin so I can see what countries my 4 visitors are from! I also installed a plugin to move my site from piproficient.com/web to piproficient.com . However, I messed up the filing pretty badly. I moved all the files to piproficient.com in the file manager but it didn’t work. So, I am now trying to connect the database to something or another, I have learned my lesson.…
